just seen this high court ruling regarding Croft racing circuit ----This could well be the flood gates opening  all other circuits take note!!!!
croft is dependant on track days as is most circuits these days, to generate enough money to keep a circuit a viable propersition, without them i doubt Croft will survive.

what is it with some people today. There is always that minority who ruin it for the reast. Having track days and places to take a vehicle surely is much safer than taking it out on public roads. surely they knew abou the track before they moved to such a place. idiots

i dont know how true this is but i read somewhere that the daughter of the family is the ex wife of the owner or his son.

sounds fishy to me. would be a shame to see it go under. every time i go there it seems like im in someones back yard. very welcoming place.

The people who complained were the parents and their daughter
she was married to the circuit owner for several years up to 1993
they bought property close to the track at that time
the daughter divorced the owner and then tried to get planning for a hotel where she still lived in the marital home
this was refused.
at this point the noise from the track became terrible to such an extent that the value of their property was affected and they claimed compensation to the tune of £175000
yes £175000
court costs of £700000 have to be paid by croft plus their own legal bills
the great british legal system strikes again ??!!!
i hope they are very happy with their windfall its certainly cheered a great deal of us motorsport fans up knowing this could happen elsewhere is very frightening indeed
god help us all
chris
