thats what im fearing, the camber angle on the actual miglias are ridiculous though, couldnt do the same on a road car, and i dunno if 13x7 would be the way to go but may be the only way, dunno if i can afford 10x7 inch would have to convert the brakes, the miglias are my favourite minis

with miglia arches you have to make your own mounting brackets i believe as you cut the arches down to suit the car.

i asked ade how he did his a while ago and he said:

Basically I've ( I say I it was the bodyshop but you know what I mean) put about 5 little right angle ally brackets riveted to the bodyshell then a screw through the bracket and jobs done. I also put a small amount of filler up the underside of the join to stop any water and grit seeping through.

And:

They're literally a 15mm x 40mm bit of ally bent into a right angle.

i recently fitted a set to my mates hillclimb/sprint car, i just made up some little strips of 25 thou titanium, folded them to the approx 45degrees to match the arches.
we cut tiny slits in the bodywork with a dremel so the bracket fits inside the car, leaving a lug on the outside to rivet to. we just used pop rivets and little washers to spread the load. all we have to do now is bead seal the edge where it meats the body with a little black mastic, and we're sorted!

just be aware these arches are very wide, 7.5 x 10 rims with 8" slicks fill them nicely though! :cheese:

mmm i want that car!! what spec engine is it?

its a 1399, big valve full race head, 310 scatter cam, 1.5:1 roller rockers, split 45 webbers, straight cut box with quaife slip diff, putting out 140 bhp at the flywheel , with shed loads of torque.
not really very good for shopping, but if you've got the space, boy does it fly!....it just pulls like a train in all gears!

would 7x13's look ok? i dont want to go down the route of 8 inch wheels, worried bout my bearings if i did and the handling, 10 x 7's would be great but can never find a set which are under 600 :nugget:

im getting the curley carbon fibre standard sized ones but im still stuck on wheels, if only i could afford some 2 piece racing alloys, looks the nuts

I recently found out that Quaife's world headquarters are just down the road from me, in my village!

...spooky... :fear:

Bloody nice hillclimb car by the way!
