i have a problem just started occuring last 2 days, spluters loads lost power idle's at barley 100 revs choke on or off but its quite bad now, i think it may be sumthink to do with exhaust seems to be leaking gasses from behind the air filter not sure if its inlet or outlet but will have a look on saturday.

also i have a little black pipe that comes from distributer and goes to the water pump then a pipe goes from water pump to carb and another pipe goes into passnger wing from water pump, but noticed the pipe that goes into wing has snapped at a T piece by the water pump could this be part of the problem?

here is pic of pipe not very clear tho

That's the vacuum pipes or charcoal canister pipe I believe and yes it would cause problems if it's broken.

Try looking on Moss Europe or Somerford's sites they have online parts catalogues with piccies.

The bit in the piccy is a thermostatic valve that controls the vacuum advance. I'm not sure it would make your engine run as badly as you describe. Start by checking the ignition components plugs. leads dizzy cap..points if it has them.

What about the contact breaker points and condenser? (Unless you have electronic ignition?)
