hi there people hope some one can help,

i have been rebuilding a classic mini cooper on a 94 plate single point injection and have done a silly thing and lost the immobiliser key ,

i have followed the wiring back to the unit and it looks like it could be a factor fit item the box has an arial out of it a 4 pin plug that goes to a jack plug type key and then a 20 or so pin plug,

does anyone know how to bypass this or have one complete that i can fit

any help would be good

thanks mathew

heres a pic of inside boot area just to show you what i've been up to

It should be quite easy to bypass, look for where the wires go and you should see where the original wires have been cut,

FOR EXAMPLE if you see a red & white wire that has been cut and your immobiizer wire goes to it, there must be another red &white wire where your immobilizer connects to... so all you do is get rid of the immobiliser wires and join your red& white back together, there may be 2 or 3 places that this is done but mostley it should be near the ignition area.. Hope this helps

Buy another fob on Ebay for about 99p, and get it trailered to somewhere with a diagnostics computer... about30 seconds later, key fob programmed to your car and working

Easy as that...

I know this sounds really basic but alot of early immobilisers were made to fail safe. It's worth a try just unplugging it and giving it a go.
