I'm off to a meeting with Trevelgue tomorrow about the riviera run

the Cornish Mini Club are trying to make the show area bigger as there are lots of people that won't show their mini because of being packed in to tightly

the idea is to use the field where we do the auto test on saturday as the show area on sunday, this would leave the car park with more space and more traders/ auto jumble

also we would like some sort of day time entertainment for both kids and adults as many people say once they have looked at the cars in the show and trade stands there is nothing else to do

has anyone else got any more suggestions as to what they would like to see and do that weekend ?

remember this meeting is tomorrow afternoon (friday 16th) so don't post on here on saturday wanting a wet t shirt contest as it will be too late

i will have my last look at this topic around tomorrow lunch time

Bigger show area would be good, as long as it's not muddy in the field I guess. Would also give a chance for people not actually wanting to enter the show'n'shine to show off their cars? It always seems a shame to me that once everyone's arrived you don't get to see all the cars unless you walk around the caravans and camp site, maybe consider having club stands in the field?

The used to use the area in front of the clubhouse for autojumble a few years back, could do with more autojumble there, perhaps an area for people to sell their own stuff cheaply. It's the first major event of the season for most people, I'm usually on the lookout for bits and can't find them as there's not a lot there.

an autojumble would be good, more like a swap meet where people can just bring a few bits in the back of their car, it could prove very successful, especially if there was a nominal charge.

Your always going to have a problem with trade due to the location, so much so i havent even bothered looking into it. However if there was more of a dedicated show area I would be happy to organise a stall there.

Some more stuff for the kids would be good too, like inflatables, perhaps a clown. Maybe even William could encapsulate us all withy the mystical and magical stories of the family Bungle.

I like the bbq idea, how about a group competition thing, like tug of war, wheel barrow races etc?

I also think Nick should be made to do a dance in a tutu for us all :-

OK a up date

very good meeting and Trevelgue and they have said yes to most of our list as long as miniworld are happy

Monty is the biggest problem as he doesn't like change or doing any work

so if all goes well

show and shine will be in the field behind the club (lots of space)

also in this field will be club stands for the local cornish clubs, PM me if your club wants a stand

yes to some sort of public voting for show and shine

yes to more day time entertainment kids and adults

yes to family camping

yes to more security night patrols (no midnight drunken hand brake turns)

yes to mini only parking area

yes to club competitions

yes to autojumble and more traders

yes to wet t shirt competition, our oldest club member Joy (almost 80) is up for it Brawlyrox if you are

so it's just down to miniworld for the final say

if we don't get much joy i will post up Montys email address so you can all tell him what a arse he is

sorry Monty from miniworld is being a arse and doesn't want the riviera run to grow and move on

Show n Shine - to stay in small car park with traders

Mini only car park - we will do this in the valley field on the Sunday.

Spirit of the show - Public voting is agreed for this category for minis in the mini only car park (valley field) we suggest giving out a voting form to everyone that turns up over the weekend and on the Sunday, to ask everyone to vote for the spirit of the show n the mini only car park and to then hand their form into the CMC stand by 3pm

Autojumble - We will set up a limited area in the valley field for the weekend. Pre-book only. £5 per car

Day entertainment - we will provide a Childs bouncy castle in the show n shine area (free of charge to all) . Remember there is also the kids play area and indoor pool for all to use.

Club stands - Not enough room for these Im afraid.

Family camping - We will have a siter on the family side until that area is booked, as well as signs confirming its a family area. We will also make sure security area aware of this.

it's not as much as we wanted but it's a little better

it would be good if people could email Monty and agree that change is good
