i've just installed my new britpart ignition and my new standard coil.
this may seem a daft question, but does my coil still need a condensor?
i read somewhere i didnt need one with this kit, but after taking my dizzy apart i realised there was one in there aswell. leaving me unsure.
could some one please give me answer whilst i put my new battery in.
thanks mark

I don't even think it would fit in the dizzy with the kit?
I've got one in my Elf, nice bit of kit

If its the one in the dizzy, then not needed

Do you mean the small condensor that attaches to the coil itself, then bolts to the bracket... Pretty sure thats only a radio interference supressor, but if it is we left it on , didnt cause any problems.
If its the one in the dizzy, then not needed
yea that one, so it will run without then?
i got confused because when i was static timing my multimeter never dropped from 12v. but i was getting a spark so i used that to time instead.
i'll try n crack it up now, new batterys in. fingers crossed

it turned over a couple of times. then i tried again and nothing

im getting a click, starter solonoid i presume? but nothing else.
its more of a clunk than a click, could my starter be stuck?
i did just change the battery for at 075 because my old one was struggeling to turn over.
im supposed to be on a run tomorrow.

Check your earth connections in boot and on engine/firewall
Have you tried hitting it?
not yet haha, i'll leave that till tomorrow morning. i tried pushing and rolling in gear to see if i could knock it.
going to go change my earth strap now. i did notice the wire was taped up and the bend a little too tight for my liking.
thanks

Running like a dream now?
sounds a lot nicer. but then i have only just discovered the previous owner had fitted the wrong needle.
plus i hadnt timed it properly untill now. wont be able to tell till i take it out for a drive. which im going to do now.
its chilly tonight! my hands are stinging from the warmth inside. my spot light broke as well tonight so i've been doing everything with the light on my fone.
not had a good night so far, its looking better now tho.
