my mini will be satin black with a removable front end. i think i'm going the carbon fibre route though, but apart from that looks like were going down the same routes.
When you gettin the front end sprayed then? you rattle canning it or doing it ''properly''?

The front end is staying as is for now, in the summer I will be sorting everything out and she will be resprayed properly
not going to give away the colour scheme but the black will be staying in places and carbon fibre arches and maybe bootlid

its a lot shorter than this time last year i guarantee
1. buy and fit new CV joints (drivers side at least)
2. buy and fit new inner steering column
3. remove front end and clean, and kurust and paint exposed metal
4. kurust then paint bits where stupid halfrauds paint did a s**t job
5. buy and fit new seat membrane for my standard drivers seat
6. fit original interior
7. remove steering column drop bracket
8. fit stick on number plate
9. sort out my oil pressure light
10. decide if a roofrack would be good for L2B

2. buy and fit new inner steering column
7. remove steering column drop bracket
ok so first i took the column trim off

and removed the steering column drop bracket

removed the pinch bolt at the bottom of the rack
this one
the old along side the new

and for some reason cant find the picture of it back in place, but im sure you can imagine how that looks

9. sort out my oil pressure light
ok so when i turn my ignition on i wasnt getting the oil pressure test light
key turned, no light

the suspected offending item

took that out and put on top of the wheelie bin alongside the new one from minispares

there were a few little bits of swarf on the threads where the old one came out so i removed them with a magnet
then fitted the new shiney one

tadaaaa!! two lights

another thing crossed off the list
i will be doing the cv joints when i get paid and using my car as little as possible until then (only a few days now)
same applies to the seat membrane, but i might fit the doorcards etc beforehand

its coming along, why did you remove the steering drop bracket?
i have speedwell bucket seats in at the moment, which are lower hence why i had the drop bracket. but for london to brighton the standard rio seats will be going in again. so the bracket needed taking out otherwise ill never get my legs under there
im also not happy about the damage it had caused to my steering column as it wasnt provided with propper fitting instructions

thanks, im not really happy with my car most of the time at themoment, im starting to wish that i had the money and time to strip it completely and do a full respray with decent paint. as the paint cans i used have just let water *yellow human water* straight through and start to go rusty
