There's an Article by Calver in one of the mini mags concerning carbs on 1275's this month.

He actually mentions that the HIF38 will supply all that is needed for the sort of power a standard 1275 will produce.

Think main difference with twins is better throttle response.

Although twin HS4 maybe a bit overkill unless you plan on further modifications

Actually fitting isn't to difficult, as long as you have the correct manifold and a matched pair of right and left carbs. inc linkages.

Not the article in the magazine but worth a read

Just one thing you sure its an HIF38, and not a HIF44 ??

From Haynes should be a HIF44

Mini Cooper, 1275 cc, (12A) 1990-on
Carburettor type . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . SU HIF44

A 44 will be plenty for a stage 1 tuned 1275
