Hello,

I am in the final stages of a rebuilding a mini, after having it completely stripped down for a spray job. During this I robbed a boot from another mini (as it was in better nick than the one on mine). Obviously to remove the boot lid the number plate light wires had to be cut. I can't for the life of me figure out what they should be connected to.

I figure I could just wire somthing up myself but I wondered of anybody could enlighten me as to what these wires should REALLY be connected to? I can't see any loose wires hanging about in the boot....what are other peoples connected to?

Thanks in advance.

They are just wired in with the tail lights, look for black connectors that the rear light cluster wires are pushed into there should be a space or the plate wiring.

Yeah, though it should just plug in to the joints for the bullet connectors, tail lights and earth.

i got the boot lid form someone else, and the wires that were on there had just been hacked off. there was no bullets of anything on the ends.

no worries though, i can easily bung some spades or bullets or something on there.

and then i just want a parallel connection with the tail lights on the passenger side. is that right?

cheers.

There should already be connectors inside the car just behind the fuel tank / under the N/S rear lights. a pair of female buller connectors.

Just put a pair of bullets on your numberplate light and plug in, job done.
