Hi,
i am thinking about fitting a new grille to my car as the 1 on the car is a bit worse for wear.

I was interested in getting a Mk1 wavy style grille, and keeping the original Mk4 grille surronds as i dont want to change the bonnet (yet).

Oh, the grill needs to be external release by the way.

Is it possilbe to fit the mk1 stlye with the mk4 surround?

Also, any ideas where i can get the appropriate grille from and any places to avoid buying it from?

Thanks
Mike

I'm not sure it will be because the mk1's are more rounded whereas the mk4's are more square... i think you'd have to have the mk1 suround.

The MKIV surround won't fit a MKI grille.
You can however put a MKI grille and surround on your MKIV (but it means cutting the lip off the bonnet, where the surround attaches).
Unless you want a wavy MKI 'STYLE' grille. There are a few places that do the wavy style grille in the later shape so you can retain the MKIV surround. Try www.minispares.com or www.minispeed.co.uk they both sell different types of grille I think.
