Preping my engine for install i took the bell housing off just to have a look.

Noticed loads of dust in bottom, so i stripped clutch and was wondering how thick the friction material sticks above the rivets??

Ive got about 1mm??

Cheers.

what sort of clutch is it, verto or diaphragm ?

however, disregarding the above, if you have the clutch apart, for the cost of a new plate why bother putting an old one in ?

Verto....

Personally I'd replace it, even though you can still see the groves in the plate, there is definite signs of wear... and the difference between the cost of a new plate and replacing it now and the time and effort later on having to replace the clutch when it does eventually fail is a no brainer IMO.

Unfortunately mileage has very little to do with clutch plate wear....driving style is the more important factor...

Don't see why not, unless someones been slipping the clutch or abusing it loads.
