Hi my name is Kara i am 18 but have already owned 3 mini's! My road car is a classic mini cooper which i spent my life savings on; My dad sprayed it pearly pink for my 17th birthday, and i love it!

I don't know much about mechanics but i've got 13" compomotive wheels with 185/55 r13 tyres. The wheels seem too big becuase they are rubbing on the inner arch and they keep knocking the ball joint out..i put my standard mini wheels back on but they look stupid and do not fill out the arch. Do you know what wheel / tyre combination i need to stop this happening?

Thank you!
:D

Are the arches stock or aftermarket?

As you need to do some hacking with a body saw/jigsaw to make clearance for 13inch wheels.

i'd fit 10''x 6 wheels, will fill arches and run smoother..and of course they wont eat bearings as 13" wheels do :D

13" wheels are likely to foul the arches, Sportspack Minis also have less steering travel to compensate. 175/50 tyres are the usual choice for Minis and will help, you can also get bushes to fit to the steering rack similar to sportspacks. do you know what the width of the wheels is - I'm guessing if they fit on the rear without extra spacers the offset is ok.

smaller tyre as per rover fitted 175/50/13 to 6"x13" wheels, but they still cut the front wings under the plastic wheel archs.

my 6x13 wellers are wrapped in 175/50 x 13 and they don't touch the inner arch at all :D

yep, by the way its just a question of taste, if u prefer the classic 10" look and their handling.. or u love the look of 13" wheels..
