Hi everyone,

After much deliberation i've decided not to buy a Ford Focus and stick with my Clubby and my Pick-Up. This means making the Clubby a car I can travel long distances in comfortably. One of the first jobs I intend to do is change the radiator for a more efficient one. I've seen in the magazines that you can get 2 core and 4 core radiators. Are there any differences in efficiency between the two? Is one intended for competition use and therefore not much good in traffic, or do they both do the same job? I've read that the standard 1100 rad is barely up to the job of cooling the Clubby when its new, so now its 26 years old the poor things struggling a bit. Which radiator would you recommend?

Secondly, I was parked outside my girlfriends the other night, came out and some barsteward had ripped the Mini Clubman badge from my boot! Gutted! Does anyone have one lying about anywhere that I could buy? Looks pants without it, and my local Mini shop (Moss) only do 1275GT and S badges.

Thanks in advance

A 4 core rad has more water capacity than a 2 row and so can cool more eficiently , this is true for competition and in trafic .

In my experiance the standard 3 core rad in good condition works fine. Not sure when they were used from but my 1991 car has one. The standard 3 core is also used in the turbo I use for sprinting and it works fine in that, and that generates lots of heat. The ST 2 core rad from mini spares is very good and is designed to be better than any 4 core. Fitting these to cars that were running hot has cured the problem. If I was buying new I would go for a ST 2 core and if I was off to the scrap yard I would (as I did a couple of weeks ago) I would get a good condition 3 core. The one I got cost me £10 and works a treat.

Can't help on the badge, sorry
