Can anyone say what the advantages and disadvantages are of a pull through setup?

apart from the fact you can use any carb as they dont need to be sealed.

im sure i read some where that the fuel in the air passing through the turbo will cause it to wear faster, but i have see engines using this setup.

You need a Turbo that is suitable for a "suck through" set-up. The seals need to be able to handle petrol, an ordinary Turbo will not be suitable as this only ever sees air, not air/fuel. Also you cannot use an intercooler on a "suck through" set-up, so this obviously limits power potential.

im only a novice but having experienced turbo setups on aircooled vw
i was under the impression that a suck through system was capable of proucing more power than a blow through system
alot of the high powered us drag cars run massive turbos and holley 4 barrels
as opposed to a turbo and a pair of throttle bodies

The advantage is you don't need a fancy fuel pressure system and you can use a 'normal' carb.
