Ive got a tool to remove and install the primary gear and seal. But pulling the gear usually works and will fetch the seal out with it.

As above really, I've usually got away with just pulling the primary gear and bringing the seal with it.

To replace it, I usually fit the seal onto the primary gear and then put the whole lot back in together, rather than putting the gear in and then trying to slide the seal onto it. Just be gentle with the new seal and make sure it's seated and aligned correctly.

Hardest part of the whole operation will be removing the flywheel with the engine in situ. Not impossible by any means but if the flywheel has a good hold then its not a fun task!

Unfortunately it's another special tool which removes the primary seal. It's grips the primary gear in the grove between then clutch splines and the seal face on the primary gear and then pulled using a similar method to a flywheel puller, but thinking about it, you could manufacture something out of something like an 1/8" thick metal plate (like a big C washer) which could fit into this grove, and then 3 holes for the flywheel puller to attach to. It does not take a lot of pressure to pull the primary gear (with the seal).
