my wing is slower gettin worse and worse and i really want to put a fibre glass 1 piece front onto her but ive heard many things about garages will not m.O.T it. Also about the inner wings too, im soo confused about what is true and what is not.

any info about the legal law and about fitting fronts would be extreamly handy

>_<

many thanks

I don't know if there's any real law about flip fronts on Mini's. Your main aim is to satisfy the MOT tester that the Car is structurally sound. Just solid mount the top and bottom mounts and stick some decent brace bars on there and you should be fine.

I've just had my first MOT with my 1 piece FG front and the blokes were impressed!

Another good idea would be to take some pics and show them to your local MOT stations and see what they think before you do anything.

If the car is post 76 with rubber subframe mountings it needs brace bars to connect the front of the subby soligly to the shell (by the top shockers mounts) in theory earlier cars with sold mounted frames don't need bracing but there are so few about now you may have difficulty convincing a tester that's the case. Apart from that the same basics apply as would to any bodywork - nothing is exposed that's sharp enough to cause injury or is likely to fall off or foul the tyres etc.

Most cut the inner wings back to just in front of the shockers 'n cross member but you could leave them intact if you wanted.

fibreglass is cheaper that's for sure.

CF should be stiffer 'n stronger weight for weight.

But is that what you want in an unstressed panel that's really just an oversized bumper? Kevlar or Diolen (woven polyester) would be better high tech options.

Easy fix, secure 3 'L' brackets & mount the bumper on that.

I hinged mine so it can flip and be removed but some use bonnet pins so that's it's just removable, I liked the flip-ness
