hi my alloys have bubbled really badly and im wanting to respray them. i was just wondering if you can use nitro mors to take the paint off. the wheels still have tyres on, would it affect the actually alloy or the tyre. cheers in advance

It wont affect the alloy but i would strongly suggest not getting it on the tyre. For a couple of minutes spent masking the tyre up it's worth the peace of mind.

depending on how bad they are, you might get away with just rubbing them down (with a bit of elbow grease!).
If you nitro mors them, ull have to get them back to the alloy, make sure its all off and start from scratch, ie primer etc!

Other wise just rub down and blow over!

You may also find that depending on what they have been coated with, nitromors does not shift it.

I've tried it on 2 different makes of alloy wheel and it removed the silver top coat, but whatever the under/primer coat was would not be removed. At least it would make a mess of it rather than removing it. Had to rub them back in the end. Ended up just rubbing down the other 3 wheels in both sets too.

I'd test it on the reverse side first if I chanced it again.

media blasting is garenteed to remove any foreign bobies from the surface , nd just so happens i have a cabinet !! Check my sig for link if your interested as in my opinion gives the best finish for spraying and restoring wheels
