the main Differance's are Cooper S engines had 11 stud heads, tappet chest covers and a plate rivited to where the petrol pump would be located and all the internals are different EN40B crank being the main difference..........

The fuelpump hole isn't riveted, but closed by the casting

Cooper S blocks did not have a hole for pump and it had a alluminium plate reading 1071 rivited to it..........I know I have one..................

Yeah, what I said... Closed fuel pump hole (by casting, not by a riveted plate)

Maybe it/I was a bit missleading...
Only know the rivetet tag as flanking the raising where the fuel pump would sit. Like this:

But well possible the location of that plate differed between the different 'S' engines

by the way: that tag was not solely used on Cooper S engines, I've seen in on 1275GT engines too

And I think on a 950

They had different blocks, cranks, rods, pistons, cam, head, valves and rockers for a start.
