I have leaks on both front and rear screens.
I have bought new rubbers and chrome strips but need someone to come out and fit.
I have contacted a local company who have quoted me £110 which seems high to me.
Does anyone know anyone who could do this cheaper?
Cheers

Save £100, buy this tool http://www.minispare.....20FILLET TOOL
And do it yourself !! To remove the screens easily, remove the filler trim and cut around the bottom of the recess left with a Stanley knife. Its the sort of job which is much easier if there are two of you.
To refit see here for a pictorial guide http://www.miniresou...showtopic=24427
There are loads more links on Google and this forum for more helpful information. The hardest part is putting the chrome strip back in, which is what the tool is for.

Cheers for the links.
I have actually bought the tool from minispares but have found that my rubber seals are a) too cold and b) too old to get the seal in. Hence was looking for a proffesional to take screens out fit new rubbers and seals. Job done and I would have some confidence it wouldnt leak.
I have fitted screens many years ago when I restored mk1 escorts - I remember then how difficult it was.

do it yourself,
really. i replaced my seal for the windscreen as mine leaked.
push gently but firmly on a top corner and then slowly follow it round,
push the seal on the car, making sure its completely pushed down and into the corners,
then use silicon lubricant made by 3inone spray it on the seal and in the gap where the new glass will fit, push one side of the glass in and use the trim tool to push the seal through (a friend to help comes in VERY handy here).
i found that the top was easier top push in and then followed it all round, using the tool to put the seal through.
once the glass is in, spray more lubricant into the channel for the seal strip,
put the seal strip through the tool, so that the end of the tool is facing away from you, and pointing in the direction you want to go.
seat the start of the seal strip by hand first then slowly start pushing the tool away from you while with your other hand strightening up the strip and applying pressure to it and work your way around then screen.
then stand back and admire!
i did it, was my first time replacing it, did it with help of my brother and i was surprised how easy it was compared to how people make it out to be.
i got the wide fronted seal from minispares, it was fitted as standard to later cars, but it also gives a bit more to stop the rain getting in.
