Hi there,

Ive just fitted a Newton Commercial carpet and the hole cut out of the carpet for the gearstick seems to big. My gaitor which is currently bolted to the floor is too small and there is now a gap where you can see my underlay and metal floor.

Was just wondering if the carpet is meant to be a 'loose fit around' of the gaitor, or should the gaitor cover the complete hole (so it looks neater) - if that makes sense.

Thanks

Neil

its a 1992 K reg mini mayfair. Used to be an auto, but now a manual.

the auto plastic cover used to fit over the carpet to give it a nice fit, now though (after ages getting the carpet in) it looks a little shoddy

Have you got the gearstick gaiter fitted in place?

yes and its bolted to the floor. Its off an old metro though (i think).

Ive just had a re-arrange of it, and it fits and looks better, but not great

It's designed for a Mini gear gaiter, Metro gaiters are a different shape.
