Car has been listed before, but I think it was a good 6 months to a year ago. I have no reason to dispute what he says, but then others will know a great deal more than me about it!

but not sure if the car has a special gear box or was just a company car ?????????

reads like it is a one off special (no just drive joints differ from standerd)

There Not sure if it was the actual car used by him though. There is pictures of him driving a similar car, which had Gearbox Modifications and he would drive it home from the test center everyday after work

He Tried to sell that about a year ago can't remember what the bids got up to, but the I know it was very high for what it is ? or what it's supposed to be ? and the reserve wasn't met ? maybe it's genuine ????????????????????

Just got home from school and checked a few thing and i can tell you the following from some siles and books etc i have.

It Is genuine, I have original Pictures Of Sir Issigonis standing next it., i also have a picture of the Key fob, which has a small paper tag written on it, along with some writing which People say is Alec's.

" The book Issigonis the offical biography mentions all this in the last chapter the final years. See page 422 small car research department, which had several cars, one of these being an ADO 15 gearless, which I am told is the one I have",

That is correct, it is covered in his Biography and was Called Austin Design Office 15 as a code name, like the original orange box minis before production of the very first Mk1's.
I will try and take some pictures or scan in the items i have later if your interested.

To me this is a pretty special car, Almost as special as a Mk1 just for the fact that Alec has driven it, although, if it does need a full restoration then it takes alot ofit away really, but looking at the pictures i wouldnt say the restoation would have to be that extensive.

I would pay More, Alec issignois has driven it, Would you pay more for a Monte carlo Prototype driven by paddy hopkirk, i bet you would? Its a real question by the way, not picking holes or anything just curious.

No he wasn't, he's just Basil Wales of the MCR ex-Works Register and had nothing to do with the design of the BINI.

Not disputing this but the seller does appear to be very sketchy about the facts he says he cant prove it youll just have to take his word for it

You say you have a picture of Sir Alex standing next to it?
Could you possibly Scan it so we can all see it?

It seems strange that if it was indeed a very rare stepless transmission that it was ever removed or was even sold off considering what it was?

All the other stepless transmission systems that A I was working on had to be installed into longer fronted bodyshells and had a greater ride height at the rear,i doubt the system he was working on could of even fitted into a standard shell?

Im not saying they didnt do it but that shell is soo different and i doubt the gubbins from that will fit in there


so if you have a piccy of him with the car explaining it all im sure we would all love to see it if you could possibly scan it?

It's on ebay every few months, and never seems to sell, last time was about 6 months ago, as Jammy (I think) said.

I'm bored of it, if I'm honest, we've got some prototype cars here, driven by all sorts of people, and they're generally a bit ratty and abused.
