Im a complete mini newbie (but generally lack common sense anyway) and have been driving one for only 2 weeks. The only problem I have encountered so far is condensation on the inside of all the windows every morning. How comes this is happening, where shall i check and how can I stop it?

Check you've not got excess water under the carpets etc.

You could try some condensation absorbing boxes inside the car.

it will be wet carpet from a leak... if you remove front carpet and then get some tac and dust down the front bulk head so it is all white..then close all windows and doors and spray with water... if it is a leak you should then see where it is coming from

Do you park inside a garage or outside?

I've removed all the sound deadening/underlay in both minis and replaced it with paper, which i change frequently. i know for a fact that the windscreen seal is leaking a little. I've also got some of them boxes as mentioned above and have stuck one in each of the passenger storage bins.

thanks for the replies. ive checked under the front carpets and it was slightly damp, it seems this is the most likely cause of it. i like the sound of a condensation box, ill have a look into investing into one of those. any idea how much i should be spending?

i have to keep it outside aswell, dont have the luxuries of a garage unfortunately.

'Air Dry' from Frost's.

Cat litter works just as well, as do bags of desicant if you can get them. Only problem with the litter tray is where to put it when you're driving. The condensation boxes ahve micro mesh over them to keep the contents in the box. I paid £5 for 2 small boxes. Have one in each bin in the back, and one in the boot.

That air dry thing seems to be a winner. Regenerated by drying thoroughly on a radiator. Think I may invest in a couple of them myself.

My mini was like that before I changed the passenger door seal.
Even the roof lining was dripping in condensation! When I got in, I was looking at the amount of condensation on the windows when I shut the door - then got a lovely (NOT!) cold shower!
I found the carpet was soaked in the passenger footwell as the water was getting past the door seal. I took the carpet out and stuck it in the bath for a couple of days to dry out (I showered instead!!). Soaked up water in footwell with paper and since the new door seal has been fitted, it's been fine.

If you need a new door seal, get the proper mini one and not just a length of run-of-the-mill door rubber. The mini one has two small cut-outs in it which line up with two small channels in the doorstep. Also make sure the joint is at the bottom of the door and not the top (as my driver's side one was!).

I have just bought a bag of kitty litter and I have got two old pillowcases and put half in each and sewn them up. They will live under the rear seat.

Forgot to add, the seal cost me £13 from BJ Autobits in Cranborne, Dorset.
