I've a 1993 mini with 12" wheels - can anyone recommend some winter tyre for use in snow etc for winter rallying

The slection of 12" tyres is vey limited, evenmore so for competition tyres (no-one makes a 12" slick for instance). I think to geat a suitable tyre you'll need 13" wheels.

they use more in germany because thats where a lot of uk steel wheels go for use with winter tyres, pirelli i know make snow tyres and a lot for motorstort, have some studded tyres i was using on my van when it snowed and it was great.

colway used to make some 12 inch gravle tyres for grass tracking, but i think colway have gone under now and im unsure if the tyres are suitable for road use in normal conditions

Probably difficult to buy in the UK. They will be available from European countries as everyone changes over to them in October for the winter. They are made of a high silicone content which gives them more grip in temps <7°C.
I have a set of 12" Bridgestone winter tyres from when I lived in Switzerland. A good winter tyre that cut through the snow and ice ok.
