Hello everyone, i have just bought myself a mini as a bit of a project. have always fancied doing one.
A bloke down the road has had one in his garden for ages whilst he was selling his house, as soon as the the sold sign went up i chanced my luck.
Anyways am lucking for a bit of info to get me going,
I know it sounds daft but when looking for body panels etc what mark am i looking for? mk3 mk4 etc.
The car has all the necessary numbers and the like but the bloke has lost the log book. I know there is a way of applying for one, but how do i do it?
Thanks in advance
Richard
ps great forum by the way

hello and welcome to the forum mate!
i think you will be looking at mk4 panels for the city...someone else could make sure though! :erm:
have a look around and check the projects section, loads of information in there!

76 - 84 (ish) are Mk4's
If it has disk brakes on the front it's a MK5, but bodywise there's little/no difference between a mk4/5, I think the only difference is that Mk5's have the rear seabelt mounts welded in the boot and c posts.
As for the Log book, you can get a form (V62) from the postoffice or download it from the dvla website clicky link The will ( in theory ) investigate the origin of the vehicle and then send you a V5C is ownership is not contested.
ooh... ps, welcome and enjoy
