Model: Mini Racing Green

Small question but does anyone know what the standard bulbs are for the instrument cluster in this car and how many watts they should be?

Thanks, Dave.

Anyone?? I have checked trusty old Haynes but it just tells me their type 987 which (from a Google) is wrong.

I've just taken one out of my spare gauge set, and it has 2.2W marked on it.

So if you just take your old bulb to Halfords, and get one that looks the same and is 2.2W, then that should be the right one.

I tried Camberly Auto Factors (as their just around the corner from me) for the bulbs (admittedly I didn't take an original along) and they didn't stock any 2.2w Capless bulbs of the correct size. This is what prompted me to ask as here as they might be difficult to get hold of or I'm missing something obvious.

think there are 2 types. 1 is a capless W5W or 501, and the other is a capless twist and turn, a really small bulb in a plastic case which turns and locks into the instruments. either should be available from a good motor factors, any main car dealer, as they are used in most cars nowadays or ebay.

i fitted normal sidelight bulbs, but then i replaced them with blue neon types to get blue dials :)

the 501 sounds about right though :)
