Sorry if there is a thread about this already, had a look through the first few pages but couldn't find anything to answer my questions directly.

Firstly, my engine is currently in bits across my friends workbench, I now need to decide what I want to do to it. Already got an A4 list of the basics, which need replacing. I have done a bit of research into what is available but to be honest I have struggled slightly in finding helpful information.

Here are my thoughts so far...

Re-bore + new pistons, 1st oversize (there is a slight lip)
4pin diff
Stage 3 head
1.5 Roller tip rockers
"indcution kit"

also thought about straight cut gears / drop gears,.. i know the reliability issues, concerning them breaking etc lol

I already have a stage 1 lcb manifold and exhaust system.

My questions are ...
what else is available?
what mods do people recommend?
Also my friend is concerened that the stage 3 head would be useless fitted with the standard manifold (bit spi stuff stuck to it :yinyang: sorry dont know engines too well) something to do with the holes on the stage 3 head being bigger than the holes in the manifold, so they wouldnt line up n power would be lost?? ;)

I have spoke to my insurance company and they have basically said 20bhp increase in power equals a 20% rise in my premium, so I'm not too worried about what I do but I don't want to go silly if you get me, needs to be drivable on the road, and not loose too much reliability. It is not going to be a daily driver though.
