Hey all,

Will these be appropriate for removing the huge circlip that holds the 1st motion shaft bearing in place in the gearbox?

Started stripping my donor gearbox down today and didn't realise quite how huge it is!!!!

Thanks

You're probably better off buying proper circlip pliers. A pair of stright and a pair of bent nose. 7" should probably do you.

I had 2 similar looking sets.. all be it made by draper / laser. They were not good enough - kept slipping out the holes and also not long enough - squeezing them together was very difficult.

They look like mine so I'd think so. With straight, bent, internal and external you could end up with a lot of circlip pliers if you bought one piece ones.

in a word - no.

that circlip is pretty strong... and those 'multi head' circlip pliers dont open big enough and are very 'sloppy' in use...

get a proper plier for that circlip...

Machine mart do a good 10 inch set with replaceable tips and a ratchet mechanism..... they do the job no problem.
