What is the hard black tar like stuff on the floor of my car.

Just knocked out the front floor footwell panel where somebody had jacked up the car and now panel back to correct position.
This black stuff was cracked before I started but now it is coming off all together.

Where can you get it from and what is it called? Is it easy to put on.

Noticed that under this black stuff the floor looks like it is just grey primer. Then black stuff then body colour is this correct?

It's the sound deadening that would have been fitted to the mini when it rolled off the production line.

It's bitument based, weighs quite a lot but also works very well. you can still buy it in sheets.
