Well I always liked Space 1999 and Blake 7, but here's a few of my old favourites: -
Anyway first off the best TV show of all time: -
1963-1966
bKg9tuSbXmk
1966-1969
V0A655AXPkw
1970-74 (and the arrival of Colour TV on BBC1)
nIS3jhIncj0
1974-1981

Okay there were variations on the opening titles like the last season for Jon Pertwee in 1974 and a change of theme tune for Tom Baker from 1980. But what's shown are my favourites. I won't show any more as I wasn't really a fan in the 1980's. But Doctor Who was always on Mary Whitehouse and her 'Viewers & Listeners Association Group' hit list for years, because she claimed that it was turning British children into a nation of bed wetter's!
Right so you can now come from hiding behind the sofa as I go beyond the world of Doctor Who and first up is this F.A.B. 1968 Gerry Anderson groovy psychedelic (well the beginning was anyway) classic and if I was Joe 90 I'd either be high as a kite or terribly sick after that experience!: -

Then there was the 1969/1970 Gerry Anderson non puppet TV show called 'UFO' which oddly enough used to get shown passed my bedtime, so my parents enjoyed it instead. Until I came downstairs and caught them at it and demanded to watch it too!: -

Then there was the greatest pre-fabricated boy band of all time and even The Beatles loved their TV Show: -

And they blame today's TV for making kids hyperactive? Here's the Banana splits and enough crazy mayhem to drive all the kiddies around the twist: -
g2se2I70CJ0
Here's a classic 1960's cartoon about a girl who lived in a brand new high-rise block of flats and her mum drove a Mini. I always found the part where the dog and mouse used the lift kind of creepy as I didn't like lifts much back then: -
gcKJVqUPRNs
Fun late 1960's kids show that was slammed by religious groups for encouraging witchcraft at the time, mad?: -
QsUkM7FwiKk
This weird TV show starring the artful dodger from the 1968 musical version of 'Oliver' (i.e. the late Jack Wild) was a bit like The Wizard Of Oz on acid!: -
C-yLYz6ejqw
So much so here's a fantastic Pink Floyd version which seems to go together very well and it's a shame they hadn't used this version instead LOL. I guess it's like a kind of fitting tribute to the late Jack Wild?: -

This kids cartoon was about a bloke who'd visit a shop every day and meet another bloke who'd give him stuff and next thing he'd be off on a trip. Strange days and I'm surprised Mary Whitehouse never put 2+2 together, or am I just reading into things a bit? Either way everything (even kids shows) were fab and groovy and a little bit psychedelic back then: -

This was a really creepy show that was all about nightmares and it used to frighten the life out of me and my older sister. It was originally made in colour, but like the BBC, they've probably gone and wiped the colour tapes. Anyway it got made into a similarly creepy film called 'Paperhouse' (which I've got on DVD): -

More hyper-active stuff from the groovy past: -
FNFd4GX3QPM
This was Blue Peters rival TV show on ITV for a few years, but it was far cooler with hip long haired presenters: -
R37LYpB4fb0
Weird TV Show that was quite popular for a while and got remade recently I believe?: -
xez4o1ujOPI
Another creepy 1970's kids show about an evil force that makes the population turn against technology and live primitive lives, pretty good in it's day: -
oKT6RR88SkY
Now some fantastic fun from Jon Pertwee who was the 3rd Doctor Who (1970-74). This show that was made during the late 1970's/early 1980's either scared kids or made them laugh. I was older by then so I just found it incredibly hysterical and still do today!: -

Right that's my lot for now and yes I'm showing my age, but I don't care because I think kids in the 1960's and 1970's had some great TV shows to watch. Trouble was there were no video recorders so we couldn't tape them and if you missed them that was it as they were seldomly repeated because companies like the BBC were far too busy wiping and re-using the video master tapes (that's why so much 1960's Dr Who doesn't exist now).
Plus we only had like 3 TV channels and so children only got to see these shows at kids prime time and that was it!
