theres pre verto and verto, injection cars use the verto one, but its not specific to injection and is interchangeable with carby minis that are also verto.

Yes you have to use a specific injection Verto clutch kit, if you use a carb one the timing will be out and the injection system will not work.

Only want the clutch plate really, I know theres a 180mm & 190mm, 190mm being the one I need, but cant find anywhere on minispares an injection specific one?

This is the one im looking at, thinking of poping down motor factors see if they have one??

Click Me!!..

Edit: Found an injection clutch kit, but only want the friction plate, so I guess the 190mm will be ok?

Paul.

If your existing flywheel rim and pressure plate have a lot of wear left by a 180mm plate then fitting a 190mm plate will be pretty dangerous (the clutch will initially be biting only on the outer 5mm of the plate outside the wear, the plate is fairly likely to shatter if that happens). If they aren't heavily worn or you are already using a 190 it will be fine. Your car should have a 190 I believe but you never know.

It makes little sense to replace the driven plate only in a Verto clutch. The spring and pressure plate do wear and the self adjusting nature of this clutch makes it hard to setup a new driven plate with a worn pessure plate.

Oh and in terms of the driven plate itself there is no real difference between carb and injection, the change from 180mm to 190mm didn't happen at the same time as the introduction of injection I don't think. I'll move this to the injection section in case there is a specific problem that the injection specialists know more about.

IIRC the 190mm friction plate was introduced with the 1300 carbed A+ engine in 1990

On our Race Mini, which is a Cooper Spi, we use the NON verto clutch plate HB8017-MSC Part No GCP 204AF. I run the same NON verto clutch plate in my road going Cooper Spi--never had any problems. If you can get away with just the plate, it is a lot cheaper and better quality than most things from a |Factor
