Ive started stripping my (unknown spec) 1380 motor down.
The camshaft is stamped with M2285 at the oil pump end.
Can anyone ID this for me and provide any information as to what it is?

Just got hold of a mini sport catalogue and I see what you mean. It could be. I'll check it's a 2 and not an S. Still not sure what a P in a circle on the cam is. ThanksHi,

Does anyone know the casting code for minisport cams?

Are you sure it is not a MD285, this would be a Megadyne came by kent very popular Fast road cam, Slightly lumpy tickover & a very good all round road cam. If not it might be a reground cam that has been refurbed to 285 spec.Hi,
