Hi there. Can anyone recommend a body shop near Banbury or Brackley? I have seen Jeff Reynolds place near Banbury, has anyone used him? Is he any good? I need to get the scuttle replaced and resprayed. He has quoted me £500 for the work including Heritage panels and blending of the paint. Is that a good price? Thanks for any advice!

(on a simular note, new to the mini scene is this area, any good local clubs to join?) :)

£500.00 seems a lot, but then it's difficult to replace the scuttle with the front wings still fitted I believe?

As for local clubs: -

wow. that is quite a bit.

if you fancy a drive to northampton (lets face it, its not that far) go to the mini hospital, they're great!

i've been quoted £1000 for a whole new front end! so yes £500 is alot.

i think he said somewhere in the region of £350? I think, when i asked.

and on a similar note, i drive through brackly quite often (girlfriend lives just outside bicester) and see a few every now and again.

Northampton seems to have quite a few. i'd be happy to come and help out if you needed help with things.

Could have sworn I'd posted in here earlier...

Boo had a lot of work done at the mini hospital.... Dr. Bob is a genius...
follow the 'Soo's Coopersport.....' link in my siggy for all the pics Bob took as he did the work.
for what he did, I don't think it was too expensive....

Stay away from him, he ripped me off, if you visit him there was a 1978 mini panel van, it mine and has been there for over 4 years with no work accomplished. Now I'm in the USA with no Mini

is that the blue mini van? does it have very low mileage? as he is trying to sell a low mileage blue minivan for about £5k after restoration is completed, i bought some bits off him before to, i asked for heritage panels and he charged me for heritage panels, but turned only 1 panel was heritage, the rest where hadrian!

Hi , would also say that you should pay Bob a visit, but remember that the scuttle is not an easy panel to replace,it has to be right otherwise you will have problems with your screen either leaking or at worst cracking

Jeff has looked after my mini,s for the past eight years including a total rebuild with no problems, you do have to chase him occasionally the main reason being he,s always busy, his prices are a bit higher but the work is spot on.The blue minivan with low mileage belonged to my boyfriend but he decided to sell it to buy a mini cooper

I've dealt with Jeff recently and REALLY wish I hadn't.

I'd strongly urge anyone to avoid him, if he used to be a byword for expensive quality then he certainly isn't anymore.

The Mini Hospital will be correcting everything he messed up.

Prior to using Jeff Reynolds I'd heard nothing negative.

Over the last two days I have heard five stories similar to mine - and The Mini Hospital has had three cars in this week that had been bodged by Reynolds.

It explains why Reynolds no longer had his garage and is working from a shack.

I was in the Banbury area for a week in August this year 2011 on a visit to My wife's childhood place where she was brought up by her grand mother in Adderbury. I did manage to drop in at Jeff's workshop where I bought some second hand parts from him that are hard to get here in Australia. He looked like he knew his Minis. He had a few Minios for sale there and also had a Mini Hatchback out the front there from memory which was for sale too. I will have to have a look at the photos I took. He was saying that he was going to give up half the area he was renting as he could not afford it any more.
