Indacators Stopped Flashing

well my indacators have been playing up for some t5ime they come on but dont allways flash. could this be somthing simple or a new flasher unit thing ?

There may be several reasons for this, A high resistance (bad contact) anywhere in the indicator circuit may mean that not enough current is being drawn to heat up the bi-metallic strip in the flasher unit and so it does not flash. If the problem is present whether you indicate right or left then it's probably not that, although it may be worth cleaning the connections on the flasher unit itself.

Battery voltage may be low. Do they flash when you rev the engine? if so check battery & fan belt

Most likeley is the flasher unit itself. Check by substitution. I assume you have the original cylindrical unit with 3 terminals. These are still available from various suppilers or you could change to an electronic unit which flash at a constant rate regardles of slight variations in voltage or circuit resistance. If you use one of these you will have to add an earth wire. See link below.
