Hi all

I have a 1988 designer with the original seats (the white and black 1s just so you know >_< lol) and threw years of use they are quite dirty

i have a plan to take them out in the next few months and run with just the drivers seat for a week antil they are cleaned

what would you say was the best way of cleaning them, i was thinking some of that mirical dry foam stuff but any ideas???

Cheers Minimib

I have exactly the same seats and they are filthy. Rear one has also started coming unstuck underneath so need some sort of fabric adhesive.
I may sell them though and replace with leather but will keep an eye on this as they need some serious scrubbing lol

Someone mention my name? :P

As a fellow Designer owner I have to say the best way to deal with cleaning the original, stripy seats is actually with a wet and dry vac and some 1001 Upholstery Cleaner, it'll do a far superior job to any dry foam you care to name!

Dry foam is only good for a quick-fix - IE spilling pop on your seats. It won't touch serious grime. Just make sure you get as much water as you can out of the seats and be aware it'll take several goes to get them back to their original brilliance. It's very much worth it though!

(And please come and join The Designer Register! :( )
