i am new to this forum and hope to enjoy reading all the threads on here
i have had several minis over the years as i do grass track racing at Henham raceway in essex with my 15 yr old son,
we currently have a clubman saloom mini with a standard 998 lump in it.
i have been racing minis since 2000 and my son is in his 3rd season this year,
last year we took it to north weald to a test and tune day for a laugh (and a ford transit meet) with some good banter/laughter from the commentator about it being there and what grass tracking is.
this is the mini on the drag strip and if you look quick enough you can see the viper i was up against
it done the 1/4 mile in about 25 seconds and top speed of 56mph(not bad for clapped out mini and 18 stone bloke at the wheel)
our new race season starts on 29th march 2009
we both finished 2nd in the track points championship and hope to do better this year,
the mini had lots of pictures taken and kids even wanted to sit in it and have pictures taken,
