Priced mine up the other night, its going to cost me £3600

Im getting mine done with the latest paint from the 'house of kolour'

Spraying the car high finish gloss black
also using a metal flake red laquer

not including the primier there will be 30 very thin layers of paint, and 15 layers of laquer, broken down to 7 with metal flake and 8 without.

30 layers!!!! bloody hell is that average? i was tinking theres usually 3 or 4 at the most

Sounds a bit extreme lol but thats alot of protection. my mini is getting done proffesionally and the guy is welding on 2 new wings, 2 new a panles and soring any imperfections left on the whole body for 475. thts just for a prime and my topcoat which is just henley blue which is a 2 pack paint

but the paint is very very thin...

gets a better cover apparently



cant wait to get it done, just need to save up for the new panels i need.. oh and the paint lol

bought my paint yday. 2 litres of 2k tartan red, 1/2 litre of vw pearl black. 3 litres high build primer. cost me just under £150. its very good quality paint. still finishing off prep at the moment, hopefully will get chance to spray in the next few weeks. doing inside/engine bay/boot too.

me and my dad have replaced between us...

inner sills, outer sills, scuttle,inner scuttle corners, wings, front panel (with cooper s diaganol brace bar), mk 1 rear light panels, a panels, rear bumper lip, modded bonet for mk1 1 grille, tubbed rear arches. the amount of work and then prep work involved, it would be cheaper to get a new shell than to pay someone to do this work.

just got full length sunroof hole to cut, hole for rh tank and cut front wings for sportspack.

im getting mine done for £300 at the body shop at my work, inside and out

paint cost me £100 for 5ltr of ford frozen while with 5ltrs of thiners and 5ltrs of hardner

you just have to shop around
