Hi guys,
have replaced all inner and outer sills on my mini and am now looking to cover the outer sill welds. although ive ground them down i want them to appear as one so wanted to cover the outer sill with shultz. however, i dont have a compressor and wondered if anyone knew of another way to apply it to get the same finish. i only have an HVLP spray system and to my knowledge you cannot spray shultz with it.

Shutz/Shultz, same thing.

Best applied with a Shutz/Shultz gun, theyre cheap, around a tenner.. but you do need a compressor to apply it.

Aerosols work but its thinner material and you'll want many tins of it, $$$$.

assuming its quite thick stuff, you can just brush it on, cut a cheap paint brush short and "stipple" it on - basically just stab the wet paint lightly with the paintbrush. you can get a similar orange peel effect

I've used that stuff. It is best applied with the gun and compresor but i can't se why you couldn't brush it on.

Well I wouldn't use it at all.. it's usually used to hide things and bodge things up these days! I'd paint it and clear waxoyl over the top, or stonechip it and paint it. I know this might not be an option, but once you've put that stuff on it's a right b@stard to get it off, and it goes everywhere! Although I suppose that might be why some people like it..

As above stonechip and paint it, shutz is a good bodge coverer, when i used to restore porsche's the ammount of bodges we used to see that were covered up with a nice thick layer of shutz

If waxoil is applied acorrectly it's fine, i've got some bare metal on the inner wings of my car covered in waxoil, it's been like it for 5 years now and still not gone rusty of washed off and i use it in all weathers. If you use the stuff in an aerosol can you need to put loads on as it has to be thin to come out of the can..
