Hmmm ,seem to have got my pics in the wrong order but never mind.
before the car was put back on its wheels we fitted a new tank and sender ,then added new fuel and brake lines.
The subframes have had new poly bushes and the brakes overhauled, new disks shoes etc. Also added some heavy duty tie bars.
The whole car was stripped to bare metal, the roof had been handpainted so took a while to get that off. Then it was all etch primed ,primed with high build primer and then resprayed in ford calypso green. Not forgetting a few coats of laquer.
Not many colours go with the green that well so i have opted to have black bumpers and mk1 grill, will also be painting the rear window surrounds and petrol tank filler surround in the black.
My mate who did the work for me is building a vauxhall clubby so i have bought his nearly new 13x7 gold ultralite extremes and his mg metro lump.We got these fitted before towing the car back to Lincoln.
the car is just a tight squeeze in my garage but i have started to put the interior and glass back in.
need to get a few more bits yet,the car doesnt have a front wiring loom ,need wheel arches, indicators and some new rubber seals.
Hopefully will have it mot'd shortly.
few more pics of the progress
