Model:Sprite
Year:1992
Description of problem (please be as in depth as possible):
Not sure whether to chose a "normal" 7x13 wheel or a "Deep Dish" 7x13 wheel. Can any one tell me what the pros and cons are of "Deep Dish" wheels. I assume they have a different offset and may put more strain on the bearings but if that is so what are the benefits?

Any non-standard parts that might be involved with the problem? Car is currently standard but will modify front arch and fit arch extensions

this might sound harsh but the debate about fitting 7x13 has raged on this forums for years. use the search button and it will give you all the answers.

for minis, if the wheel is 7x13 then its most likely to have a significant dish compared to other "normal" mini wheels. people fit 7x13;s becuase of the "deep dish"

my personal opinion is if you like the look then fit them. if you're not too bothered about looks then fit something less wide. i currently have 7x13s on my vauxhall engined clubman but have just picked up some 6x13's as i don't want stretched tyres on a fast road/trackday car and all the tramlining issues. weight is alos a factor too in my car (the car, not me by the way)

Hi Maph2,

Thanks for the quick reply. The wierd thing is that Revolution do two 7x13 wheels, they both look identical except one is described as "deep dish" so I assume it must have a different offset?

Yes the offset will be different.

Paul.
