I have just been checking the r/r on a busa engine and I'm not sure if I have been doing it correctly. I am using an analogue multimeter which for testing diodes you have to reverse the test leads (I believe).
If the r/r checks out OK, do you get the same results as in the table in the workshop manual? ie do you get the full scale deflection (testers battery voltage) for about half of the readings? I'm getting the half scale readings as shown in the manual but none of the full scales. The needle doesn't move on these.
Anyone else tried this?

they do play up from time to time have you checked the car running
it should charge around 13.5 to 14 volts
they also seem to like a decent sized battery to charge well almost as though it needs a good basic reserve in the actual battery to start with if that makes any sense
