Right then, looking at a few bits 'n' peices for the lad, here's a brief overview of what i've got in mind:

Electronic ignition (already bought)
K&N filter
Decent inlet manifold
Decent exhaust system
Coil conversion

Once i've got the coil conversion, i can finally spray and fit my fiberglass arches, which would rub like hell if i were to fit them now.

One question though, does anyone have any opinions on the Maniflow Freeflow type exhaust? I'm undecided as to whether to go for an lcb, or one of those...

Here's a picture of the freeflow exhaust, for those that don't know... http://www.minisport...es/c-str816.jpg

Well, not much to update on really.

About the electronic ignition, the BEST modification you can do to the standard mini. I've fitted it to Alexander a while ago now, re set the timing and feulling, and it's like a completely different car. Actually has some usable power, rather than being overtaken by continents. ;]

As for the other mods i had planned, the decision is now to get the stage 1 half kit from mini sport, then the single box RC40 exhaust from Minispares, should make for some much easier breathing for him. ;D

However, i don't intend to spend any more money on him until i've passed my test.

On a side note, can anyone help with an issue regarding his nuts? :)

As you can see, there's barely any thread being torqued down on, so i'm assuming these nuts are wrong for these wheels. Can anyone point me in the direction of the nuts/bolts that i need?

Thanks in advance, Paul.

Jesus! You need to get some tapered nuts on that ASAP. You shouldn't drive it like that. Have you fitted any wheel spacers? If so you should ditch those too.

Nope, no wheel spacers here.

Taken the nuts off one wheel this morning, and saw that some of the nuts are tapered. This must have been why some had a full compliment of thread, and some didn't...

Next purchase from minisport, will now include these as well as the stage one kit:

Tapered wheelnuts

Cheers for that Adcuz. :dontgetit:

It was this kit off'f eBay.

Cheap kit, but works great. If you've got the 45D distributor, like me, then you'll have to shave one of the pins off the plate in the distributor that you mount the little red box to.

Cheers, Paul.

Well as i failed my THIRD test this morning, not much.

Planning to get a set of tapered wheelnuts, and a CV boot kit, just to keep the car running...

Once the test is (finally) passed, i'll get the stage one kit, and single box RC40, let him breath a bit better.

When the examiner came out, it was the exact same guy that failed me for hesitation. In my determination not to let him to that again, i got preeeetty close to a bus. Personally, i thought the bus was going too fast around the roundabout, but hey ho.

Where did you get your stage one kit from, and which one was it?? I'd love to hear how yours does with the kit on.
