Can anybody provide me with the correct contact breaker part code for my Lucas 23 D4 distributor (mk2 cooper S) as the local motor factors arn't quite sure? Have had a quick look on minispares and google but I can't seem to find anything concrete.

The link below is from the Intermotor webpage which is the supplier the local motor factor uses. Is it correct?

If the low tension wire is cloth bound and attached with a small nut they are Lucas DSB101
If the low tension wire comes through a hole in the side of the distributor and is attached to the condenser wire DSB108
Putting these part numbers into E-bay will bring up images.

Sorry those where 25D's, try a MG or Triumph specialist's, early MGB's had the same dizzy pretty sure some triumphs had as well.

The Lucas DSB 101 formerly CS 1 fit the 23D distributor. These cross ref to Intermotor 22560. The DSB108 (Intermotor 22580) fit the 25D dizzy, I only made mention of it as I wasn't sure where the OP got his info from on distributor type and it may have been changed for a later one at some point.

I'm not sure of the Lucas number but I believe the Unipart number is GCS101. I also thought there was a high spring force set of points for the Cooper-S but I can't find a record of that part number. I'll look in my collection of parts and see what I can find.

I don't believe the MGB or Sprite/Midget ever used the 23D4 from the factory though they were often fitted by Spridget owners.
