Ticking From Speakers When Engine Is On

hi, i cant stop a ticking from coming out of the speakers when the car is running? what could this be??

Interference, most probably from the spark plugs. Make sure the radio has a good earth for starters.

i am sure you can get a small device, i think it is a capacitor or some such and it goes on the power in lead to the stereo and it will filter the clicking

ive got a device that stops it goes on coil they are 3quid from minispares

It's an RF suppressor. There are several sources of RF interference possible however. If it picks up interference with CD's etc as well as the radio it must be pretty strong and will be being picked up by the speaker wiring. I'm sure you can google up some good background info - stuff on reputable manufacturers websites would be best. A lot of OTT bumpf is spoken when it comes to car hifi.
