Whats Beat To Grind Welds Down

whats the best method and tool to grind welds down as using the grinder can make a mess
i have an angle grinder and an orbital sander

Angle grinder probably is best, other that than you could use some of of Dremel for small bits or I sometimes use my Black & Decker Powerfile which is a great tool I would be without >_<

I use a cutting or grinding disc to remove most of the weld...then when you need to be more careful, use a flap disc or another type of sanding device.

i use 40 grit fibre disc on a grinder or a belt sander if you cant get the grinder to the weld

I'll be the first to say...

DON'T CUT WITH A GRINDING DISC OR GRIND WITH A CUTTING DISC!

Flap discs are the best if you want seamless looking joints.

Yeah , im all for flappy discs. Machine mart ones are cheap and they work for ages and when they are tired you can still use them for tidying up and smooting things that a new one would eat away.
