I've bought this alarm second hand and was hoping to find some information about fitting it somewhere.

Has anyone had this on their car before? It says Microscan on the keyfob. On the Microscan website i can't see one which has the same wiring as my one. It is similar to the Compact 1000 but not the same.

Any information would be reatly appreciated.

I have got a micro scan alarm on my civic which i installed myself, first one the ultrasonics were faulty but the people at microscan were very helpful and swapped it for a replacement no problem. That was prob about 4 years ago and have had no problems since.
There does seem to be a bit of name snobery around car alarms though and some people seem to think you have to have a clifford or toad alarm to be any good but if they want to pay out the extra money for a posh name then that's up to them!
Stick with the one you have.

Thanks for that. Good to hear you haven't had any problems with it. How did you find fitting it?

In the main it seems to be ok but i am not sure what the purple wire does so a bit apprehensive about installing it.

I might contact Microscan and see if they can help me so hopefully they will still be helpful ;)
