What do people think of the new Ford Fiesta? I am looking at a new daily drive and have been impressed by what I have read about it so far. Anyone got one?

i think it lookes really nice and smart, even the 'normal' models look good with the alloys, doenst have to be st'd. i havent driven one, but i have sat in one and was pleasantly surprised by how pleasant and spacious it was in the front. i say go to a ford dealer for a test drive

ST is the outgoing model my dear boy, there's not an ST version of the 2008 Fiesta yet, however, the outgoing model is now very cheap if you go to the main Ford dealers as they're trying to get rid of the last of their stock.

I personally think the new Fiesta is a brilliant car, but I would say that...

The Econetic will give best fuel economy for a careful driver, it'll make little difference if you drive round like your arse is on fire.

Maybe consider the Zetec model for a good all rounder, pick the engine based on what you'll be doing, there's no longer any reason to hide from Diesel as they've got plenty of poke, as above, take a test drive.

Also consider how many passengers you'll be carrying, if regularly using the back seats then consider the 5-door, not quite as cool looking, but easier rear-seat access.

Everyone thinks the same as me, thats great! I am thinking of the 1.4 TDCi, my dad has a diesel mondeo and it is great to drive, loads of torque which should make a nice daily drive. Would go for the 3 door as well, even though I do like the look of the 5 door there is something I prefer about the 3 door.

we (well he actually) has been looking for some months now for a Fiesta Turbo Diesel Ghia, a new one is out of the question. We've only seen one which is a little too pricey. So a diesel Focus Ghia is next on the list, these seem few and far between though. They are both good to drive but I think the Fiesta is maybe cheaper on the road tax.
