attached is a picture of my 1987 Mini City Special E (998cc).

as you can see, the trim in between the front and rear arches on the left side is missing. also, im not too fond of the grey colour of the trim. what in your opinion should i do about the arches/bumpers? should i simply replace the trim with originals, or go for some wide fibreglass arches and chrome bumpers?

i cant really decide which would look better, so i thought you could help me out ;)

i think a set of those arches and the side trims retails for around £20?
I'm also after some new arches for my mini (i have some horrible sun faded versions of the grey ones like yours), preferably ones that can be painted body colour, any suggestions?

You can just sand and paint the grey plastic ones if you're on a budget, if not W&Ps or group 2 narrows!

Will W&p ones fit 13" wheels? probably go for painting the Grey ones as on a budget, i'm only 15 (16 next month) and planning to restore car by 17th birthday (a little less mad then you would think as my uncles classic car business can do some of the work for me  )

can i just point out that original grey arches are VERY hard to find, so instead of spraying them, why not sell then to someone who will appreciate them and then spray a set of black ones.

if your seriously considering changing the arches on a rare mini sky, then i would strongly suggest that you keep the original grey arches for when someone with a bit more sense wants to put them back on :closed:

EDIT: as pointed out below, it's a mini rose  but the above still applies :)

Anorak- :closed: I'm shocked at your error! You may as well have called it a mini sky rose racing flame?

skaterave- if you go for wide arches you'll have to fork out for new wider wheels too. Maybe just replace the bumpers and keep your current arches or spray them body colour?

both the front arches are cracked and all are sun damaged, wouldn't have thought would be of much use to anybody else.
Will most probebly replace with standard one's but may paint them.

They were fitted as standard to minis throughout the 80’s until the black ones of the 90’s, which are the only standard ones you can buy.
