Right, at the moment there isn't much i can do to my Mini. I just dont have the funds. however, i've completely fallen in love with it so im not getting rid of it anytime soon. i'm going to let my parents take care of it while i'm away at uni.

but, once i return from uni (or have decent cashflow) i have big plans for my car. its a 1987 City E Special, 998cc, at the moment.

considering a lot of the minis on here are modified (both visually and under the bonnet), i just wanted to ask: how much, VERY roughly, am i looking at paying to get the following things done. i emphasise roughly.

Engine conversion to a 1275 GT
renovation of the interior with centre console, dashboard installed, Cobra bucket seats
chrome bumpers, door handles, roof trim, and wide arches
wide 12 inch black minilite alloy wheels

a lot of you have probably had at least one of the above done to your car, so i thought you could help me out by letting me know how much this would cost, minus the time and effort in installing them all (i have that covered :dontgetit:)

i'm hoping its around the £1000 mark, thanks in advance >_<

Why minus the time and effort of doing it ?
And what kind of Mini is it ?

Anyway, if you get everything new and pay to have it all done it will cost a LOT.
But if you do what most do which is a mixture of ads on this forum, ebay, shows, scrapyards etc., etc., you
will save a lot of money (and have a lot more fun).

My rough estimates go like this:

1) Engine conversion to a 1275 GT
Don't know - not my world.
But I do know that the good old 998 not only won the Monte Carlo rally, but is exactly what your car is designed to hold up front and
be dragged along by.

2) renovation of the interior with centre console, dashboard installed, Cobra bucket seats
Console = about £25, dashboard = build your own £15. Ebay/forum = £40/50 ish. Cobra bucket seats = big bucks for anything worth having
but there are LOTS of other options for seats. (do a search for "seats" and "fit" and "Mini"and find loads of info about which seats will fit
into a Mini). Also, ask someone to take you for a 20 minute drive in a Mini with Cobra buckets and you might decide you want
something else (especially if you ever intend on taking someone somewhere "ahem" romantic in it....)

3) chrome bumpers, door handles, roof trim, and wide arches
All ten quid plus elbow grease except the arches. Do research on arches and you'll find everything from s/h £20 to upwards of £200.

4) wide 12 inch black minilite alloy wheels
Use this forum / ebay and you're looking somewhere between £100 / £250 for a nice set with decent tyres.

Just don't forget, it's a Mini so you'll be spending money on lots of other stuff like keeping it watertight, running, legal, full of oil etc.,

Best wishes
Monty

All depends on the quality. If I were you I'd spend the time away researching this properly, then you'll know for sure.

By the way a City E isn't a special.
