hi all

looking to get a K&N air filter cone for my SPI and looking at the standard air filter set up there are a couple of electrical plugs that attach to it and was wondering if the K&N cone will have sockets for them or will i have to leave the waving about in the engine bay (something I dont want to do)

also my brother said something about the throttle body being unable to fit the cone

any help is greatly appreciated

ive got a pipercross one on my mpi, just bolted on, no disconnecting plugs. All i had to do was remove the old filter housing and bracket, fit a new one to support the throttle cable and on went the filter!! easy!

yeah same as what my brother did with this MPI but it was a K&N one, MPI's dont have the same connections as an SPI as on an SPI there are 3 connections that plug directly in to the standard air filter housing

please be aware the Mpi and spi are completely different sizes, when it comes to fitting a non standard air filter.

The black hose (don't remember it being red) needs blocking. Mine has been blocked with a screw... if this isn't done the ECU gets confused and will cause the engine to 'judder' and run rough. the other cnnection plugs into the filter.

to be honest.. keeping the standard airbox with a K&N filter inside its alot better for the engine than the cone K&N filter.

Filter sits where the original one was, with a jubilee clip to hold it on, sensor sits in the back of the K&N, red hose is blanked off with a screw.
