Ive tried mini bonnet hinges and to be honest they dont seem to be the greatest idea, i will put some pics up shortly of the only picture i have found, that i would like them to look like.Shouldnt be too hard to fabricated end on the day the main hassal is lining everything up you not considered running flipped outside boot hinges inside if thats thesable ??

Heres the only other idea i have, other than mini bonnet hinges but i need the exact size and metal mm and width, anyone else got any more pics to help,

And they don’t look as flimsy as bonnet hinges, probably not a problem with a later single skin or fiberglass boot lid, but as I was planning on doing this with an original double skinned (bloody heavy) mk1 boot I went off the idea.

beetle bonnet hinges look promising. to position them up and weld in place we'll use a sacrificial boot lid - cut a big hole in the centre of it so you can reach in and weld stuff in place

PS - we want a big throw on the boot openeing for other sillyness we are doing - but the gas strut thing works well with these hinges.

Have a look at Camp Freddy's project thread (called 'The Rat') - somewhere in the 80-odd pages are pics of the ones he made!
JR
found it but it was a bit further back than page 80
